Call for Abstracts Opens on Nov 17 2025: Minimizing the impact of ocean acidification on marine biodiversity: the way forward - 7th World Conference on Marine Biodiversity

November 16 to 19

Bruges, Belgium

WCMB - November 17 to November 20, 2026!

Ocean acidification and marine biodiversity have earned their spot at the World Conference on Marine Biodiversity (WCMB 2026), to be held in Bruges, Belgium, under the theme “Challenges to Achieve UN Ocean Decade Goals.”

Our session, convened by Sanja Grđan (University of Dubrovnik) and Natalija Suhareva (University of Copenhagen), aims to bring together scientists from the ocean acidification community with experts on assessing marine biodiversity using traditional and emerging technologies. We will welcome presentations on ongoing research using a wide range of approaches (laboratory, fields, natural analogues, monitoring, modelization), conceptual and technical approaches, as well as traditional ecological knowledge.

The main goal of the session is to connect different actors working on ocean acidification and marine biodiversity to evaluate the state of the art in the different disciplines and develop the needed strategy to minimize and address the impact of ocean acidification on marine biodiversity.

SAVE THE DATE: Call for Abstracts opens on from November 17, 2025!
